Generals Beat Pontiac, 2-1
|
The Washington Generals went home winners at Washington Park, thanks in large part to starter Luis Castillo. Castillo stifled the Pontiac Godfathers, enabling Washington to grab the 2-1 win. Nobuatsu Toshishai collected save number 8. Washington raised its record to 29-19 with the win.
Jim Hanson drew 2 walk in 4 plate appearances for Washington. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tom Farrell. It was his 36th walk of the season.
"We take it day by day here," said Hanson, "and today was a good one for us."
