Charleston Downs Ft. Worth, 2-1
|
The Cattle Pen was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Anastasio Cabanillas Jr. pitched well, but his team, the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Charleston Battery at The Cattle Pen. Charleston pitcher Jalmari Lostedt got the win. He's now 1-0. Anastasio Cabanillas Jr. was tagged with the loss.
Charleston used the clutch hitting of Joey Coco to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Battery ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
Coco called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
After losing, Ft. Worth is 2-6.
