Walleye Saddle Gallos with 5-3 Loss
|
The Walla Walla Walleye topped the Delmarva Gallos, 5-3, in USSL Single A action at Walleye Tank. The standout performance belonged to Walla Walla pitcher and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, native Gabriel Nash. In 6.1 innings, Nash surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The save was credited to George Murray, his 4th.
The Walleye got a big at-bat from left fielder Wen Mi. For the game, Mi was 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Walla Walla a 2-1 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mi told the Walla Walla Bulletin.
With the win over Delmarva, the Walleye improved to 13-21.
