Hobeaus Fall Short, 6-5, at Rocky Mountain
|
Fans watched the Rocky Mountain Vibes and the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus fight to the finish.
Rocky Mountain starter Chad Yates pitched well against the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus at Bellevue Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. Yates picked up the win for Rocky Mountain, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0.
Rocky Mountain right fielder Hambleton Oliver contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the Vibes ahead, 2-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Oliver told the Rocky Mountain Today.
The Vibes go to 12-15, putting them 7th in the Silver A.
