Godfathers Clip Generals, 4-3
|
The performance of Mike Sherman proved critical in helping Pontiac beat Washington, 4-3. The Godfathers second baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Paul Allen, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and no runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Pontiac is now 18-7, 2 games up in the Silver A.
Sherman had a key at-bat for Pontiac early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and gave Pontiac an early 2-0 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Pontiac manager Júlio Villegas.
