Arryns Fall, 11-6, to Johnson, River Rats
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Columbia designated hitter Marty Johnson made his presence felt in the 11-6 River Rats triumph over the Lake Erie Arryns. Johnson went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 4 runs. Columbia starter Martín Rivera was credited with the win after throwing 82 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Viriato Hembise earned the save for Columbia, his 1st of the year.
Han-wu Woo had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Columbia. With the bases loaded and the River Rats leading 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Woo said.
The River Rats, at 31-37, sit in 7th place in the Menard's A.
