Thunder Hawks Fall to .500 After 6-4 Loss to Atoms
The inspired effort of Ft. Polk South designated hitter Virgil Hughes was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Bethesda Atoms. Hughes went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Luis García snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 2-0 on the season. Stu Washington picked up the save for Bethesda, his 7th of the year.

Enreecko-Edilberto Bibilone had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Bethesda. With the bases loaded and the Atoms leading 4-3, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bibilone said.

The victory puts Bethesda at 40-62.
