Bulls Upend River Rats, 7-4
|
The Belleville Bulls trumped the Columbia River Rats, 7-4, at Columbia Stadium. Belleville shortstop Ludwig Mangin was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. José Trujillo notched his 3rd save in 3 chances. The win has Belleville at 23-39.
With Belleville leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Mangin came up to bat against Columbia pitcher Viriato Hembise. Mangin hit a fastball to left for a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season put the Bulls on top, 4-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Mangin, "and today was a good one for us."
