Martínez Pops Two Homers in 5-4 Win for Mercer Island
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-4, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The win was due in part to shortstop Jorge Martínez, who went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The save was credited to Jude MacPherson, his 1st. Mercer Island is now 62-32, Ft. Polk South 48-46.

In the top of the second of a scoreless game, Martínez hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Martínez said after the game.
