Thunder Hawks Fall, 6-3, to Dacanay, Whales
The Virginia Beach Whales topped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 6-3, with youngster Ronald Dacanay playing a key role. Dacanay was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Whales in the win. Virginia Beach reliever Liu-liang Lei was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Basem Al-Saodi. Arlen Mata converted his 20th save in 25 tries.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Dacanay, who is rated as the 86th best prospect by BNN, hit a bases-clearing triple. It propelled the Whales into the lead, 3-0.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Virginia Beach manager Domingo García.

The Whales, now 59-31, have won 4 in a row.
