Mariachis Slip Past Richland, 2-1

The Richland Rails and Nuevo Mexico Mariachis provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, courtesy of Kent Woods. The right-hander helped his team stop the Richland Rails, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Woods, now 8-3. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6.
Nuevo Mexico needed the clutch hitting of Tim White to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mariachis on top, 2-1. For the game, White had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Woods. "Winning helps."
The Mariachis have an impressive 56-32 record.
