Virginia Beach Gets 6-4 Win
|
Led by Scott Beavis, the Virginia Beach Whales defeated the Richland Rails, 6-4. Beavis went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Whales. The Whales have an impressive 56-31 record.
Virginia Beach used a timely hit from Walt Reed to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Whales ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Beavis.
