The Kingston Mangos picked up a win at Mango Yard, knocking off the Columbia River Rats, 7-1. Starting pitcher Bennett Whitley was a big reason why. With the win, Kingston goes to 19-22, while the River Rats fall to 17-24.

The Mangos got an important contribution from left fielder Calum MacKinlay, who in the bottom of the third hit a 0-1 fastball into right for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Mangos ahead, 3-0.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," MacKinlay told the Kingston Gazette. "But we take nothing for granted."
