Eclipse Paste Atoms, 12-0
|
The Northville Eclipse beat the Bethesda Atoms, 12-0, at Atoms Field. The Eclipse got a fine performance from shortstop Jimmy McComb, who slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice. Bethesda now has a 7-game losing streak.
With Northville leading 2-0 in the top of the third, McComb hit a curveball from Ben van de Loo for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Eclipse ahead, 6-0.
Eclipse manager Harris Harden had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
