The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks got a good effort from starter Basem Al-Saodi in defeating the Northville Eclipse at Old-Timers Park. The final score was 4-1. Al-Saodi, the winner, moves to 5-4. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Joe Gregg converted his 4th save in 5 tries.

Ft. Polk South used a well-timed hit by Virgil Hughes to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I really like what we did out there today," Hughes said after the game.

The win gives Ft. Polk South a season record of 44-40.
