Arryns Dealt 4-1 Loss by Mancelona
|
The Mancelona Torch picked up a win at Torch Field, knocking off the Lake Erie Arryns, 4-1. On the mound for Mancelona was left-hander Beau Kelley, who played a pivotal role in the win. Kelley got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Kelley allowed 1 run. Dennis Heath earned the save for Mancelona, his 6th of the year.
The Torch got an important contribution from second baseman Charles Cummings, who in the bottom of the second knocked a 0-1 fastball into left-center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Torch ahead, 4-0.
Kelley told a Mancelona Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The victory gives Mancelona a record of 18-16.
