Behind a fine performance from Xiao-gang Kong, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks knocked off the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 4-1. Kong went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Thunder Hawks. The win belongs to Bartolo Márquez in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Kent Woods took the loss for Nuevo Mexico.
