Narrow Win Takes Cut Off Streak to 7
|
The Alameda Airmen got a superb performance from pitcher Jorge Gonzáles, but the Cut Off Crawdads still won the game, 3-2. Gonzáles threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Cut Off pitcher Mark Springer got the win. He's now 2-1. Jimmy DeCourey was tagged with the loss. Shao-zu Chow finished to wrap up his 10th save.
Cut Off used the timely hitting of Anuenue-Akua Kemikilio to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crawdads on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like our moxie," said Crawdads manager Pancho Salaedo.
Cut Off has now won 7 straight, while the Airmen have lost 3 in a row.
