The Columbia River Rats got a good effort from starter Anthony Carney in defeating the Mancelona Torch at Columbia Stadium. The final score was 8-2. The River Rats now have a record of 13-15 with the win over Mancelona.

Making an impact for the home team was Orel Vodarsky. In the bottom of the first, the 21-year old right fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 1-0, River Rats.

"Enjoyed this one," Carney told the Columbia Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
