The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles grabbed a win, 12-3, over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island center fielder Damon Bansfield went 4-5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Mercer Island pitcher Jack Forrest got the win. He's now 3-0. Eugene Kelly was tagged with the loss. Mercer Island has now won 15 games in a row.

With Mercer Island leading 7-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Bansfield came up to bat against Squirrel Hill pitcher Artie O'Neal. Bansfield hit a cutter to right for a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season put the Screaming Eagles on top, 10-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Bansfield told the Mercer Island Chronicle.
