Another day, another victory for the red-hot Mercer Island Screaming Eagles.

Behind an impressive start by Ralph Winters, Mercer Island beat Squirrel Hill, 5-2. Reliever Ed Cameron picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Bhunandana Lecamwasam took the loss.

Mercer Island took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Manny Opio hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Screaming Eagles.

"I just made my pitches," said Winters, "and the ball kept missing the bat."

The first-place Screaming Eagles have won 14 consecutive games.
