Dacanay goes 3-for-4, Leads Whales to Win
The Virginia Beach Whales topped the Richland Rails, 9-5, with youngster Ronald Dacanay playing a key role. Dacanay was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Whales in the win. Matt Cornett earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. Virginia Beach has now won 4 straight.

In the bottom of the third, Luis Reyes hit a 2-run double. The 12th double of the season for the Virginia Beach catcher put the Whales on top, 5-4.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Dacanay told the Virginia Beach Gazette.
