Pierogis Best Mariachis in Pitching Duel

The Squirrel Hill Pierogis had to overcome a good performance from Nuevo Mexico pitcher Marty Logan to claim a 2-0 win at Mariachi Band Shell. Logan went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was Fernando Alou. He is now 2-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. Picking up the save was Jack Herer, his 16th.
It could have been a different outcome for Squirrel Hill, had it not been for Stanley Good, the 23-year old third baseman . Good contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Squirrel Hill up, 2-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Good told a Squirrel Hill Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
Squirrel Hill is 6th in the Premier AA with a record of 27-34.
