Atoms Stumble Again, Lose, 6-2
|
With second baseman Jacob Evans leading the charge, the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 6-2, at Atoms Field. Evans went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Nuevo Mexico pitcher Floyd Emery got the win. He's now 7-3. Howard Randolph was tagged with the loss. The 8th-place Atoms have lost 6 straight games.
In the top of the second of a scoreless game, Evans hit a 3-run home run to put his team ahead.
