The Kent Comets got a superb performance from second baseman Roland Thomas. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Syracuse. The Storm won the game, 6-5. Thomas went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Syracuse reliever John Ellis got the win, raising his record to 1-2. William Kelly was tagged with the loss. At 16-7, the Storm claim first place in the Menard's A.

Takeichi Hashimoto was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Storm first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Hashimoto said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
