Screaming Eagles Pull Off Thrilling 11-8 Win in Extras
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 11-8, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Mercer Island third baseman Pablo Peñaranda had a superb performance. He went 3-7 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Connor Wilson. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Mercer Island has now won 3 straight, while the Thunder Hawks have lost 3 in a row.

Mercer Island used a clutch hit from Jeremy Watson to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a 3-run home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 11-8. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Watson.
