Win Streak Now at 7 for Eclipse
|
Northville picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, bumping off the Providence Pilgrims, 6-3. Pitcher Martín Galindo was a major reason the Eclipse emerged victorious. Galindo picked up the win for Northville, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Northville has now won 7 games in a row.
The Pilgrims had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Eclipse going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Norberto Pacheco came to the plate. Pacheco hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Providence hurler Luiz Palmeiro. It was Pacheco's 6th home run of the year.
In comments to the Northville Bulletin, Pacheco admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
