Richland got an elite performance from starting pitcher Manny Negrete in taking a 2-1 decision over the Northville Eclipse. Vincent Higgins, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The win has Richland at 18-27.

Mariano Cabral found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Northville hurler Shawn Gibson, the 21-year-old second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 13th walk of the season put the Rails on top, 2-1.

"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Negrete said.
