Fernández Hits 2 home runs in Mariachis Win
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis topped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Ernesto Fernández. Fernández went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Mariachis on the day. The Mariachis' win now puts them at 25-20.

Nuevo Mexico grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Fernández, who is tied for 6th in the PAA with a .885 OPS, hit a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Mariachis out in front, 4-3.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Fernández told the Nuevo Mexico Daily. "It's as simple as that."
