Whales Prevail, 6-4, Over Athletic Club KC Academy

Virginia Beach and Athletic Club KC Academy duked it out and the Whales came out victorious.
The inspired effort of Athletic Club KC Academy catcher Yun-qi Zhào was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Virginia Beach Whales. Zhào was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Whales have an impressive 30-14 record.
The Athletic Club KC Academy had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Whales going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Rick McCarthy came to the plate. McCarthy hit a bases-clearing double on a 1-2 sinker from Athletic Club KC Academy hurler Keizo Baba. It was McCarthy's 3rd double of the year.
McCarthy called the triumph "a good team win."
