The home crowd had a good time watching the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis and Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks get after it.

The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks downed the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 12-1, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The Thunder Hawks were led by Richard Jacobson. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Mark Brunswick earned the win to go to 2-6. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work.

Virgil Hughes had a big hit for Ft. Polk South in the bottom of the first inning. With Ft. Polk South leading 1-0, Hughes hit a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Thunder Hawks up, 4-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Ft. Polk South skipper John Anderson.

With the victory, the Thunder Hawks record now stands at 19-25.
