Whales Prevail, 3-2, Over Mercer Island
|
Virginia Beach starter William Gordon had a strong outing against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Virginia Beach Grounds. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Virginia Beach now has a 5-game win streak.
George McLean dealt the Screaming Eagles a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Virginia Beach leading 2-0, McLean, who is tied for 7th in the PAA with a .387 on-base percentage, hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Gordon said after the game.
