Aranda Shines in 5-1 Squirrel Hill Win
|
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis beat the Providence Pilgrims by a score of 5-1. Squirrel Hill center fielder Miguel Aranda deserved the lion's share of the credit. Aranda was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 5 RBI for the Pierogis. Squirrel Hill reliever Artie O'Neal was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Yu-eh Wang took the loss. The Pierogis go to 12-20 with the win.
Aranda had a critical at-bat in the top of the seventh for Squirrel Hill, coming through with a 2-run single to put Squirrel Hill in front, 3-1.
Aranda said his team "played with focus."
