Pierogis Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
The 3-1 Providence win over Squirrel Hill was due largely to An-yi Zhou. The Pilgrims center fielder went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. The save went to Lodovico Tadini, number 7 for him. Providence is now 13-18.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Zhou, who is tied for 8th in the PAA in doubles with 8, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Pilgrims into the lead, 2-1.
In postgame comments to the Providence Daily, Zhou said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
