Eclipse Shut Out Screaming Eagles, 2-0
|
Starting pitcher Helge Zharuev did his part in helping the Northville Eclipse thwart the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 2-0. Thad Parker was called on to finish, recording his 7th save. Northville, now 11-14, holds down 8th place in the Premier AA.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the eighth. But Helge Zharuev made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With a runner on 1st and Mercer Island trailing 2-0, Zharuev threw a fastball to Alex Williamson and Williamson grounded out.
