Thunder Hawks Lose Late, 7-2
|
The Virginia Beach Whales grabbed a win, 7-2, over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Virginia Beach Grounds. Virginia Beach catcher Germán Pérez was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bill Gould came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Virginia Beach goes to 11-6 with the win.
Pérez had an important at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Whales went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Virginia Beach manager Domingo García.
