The Richland Rails topped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-3, in USPL Double A action at Mercer Island Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Richland pitcher and Boyne City, Michigan, native Dave Stafford. Eduardo Pérez closed it out for his 3rd save. With the loss, Mercer Island falls to 8-8.

Matt Fuller had a big 2-run home run for the Rails in the top of the third inning. With Richland leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Miguel López and swatted a home run to left. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rails ahead, 4-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Richland manager Dave Orchard. "It's usually not just one thing."
