The Cut Off Crawdads did just enough to secure a victory over the Kent Comets, 1-0, at Crawdads Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Anthony Coleman. In 6.2 innings, Coleman surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Cut Off, with the win, is 6-2.
Cut Off right fielder Obke Veenman contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a slider into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Crawdads ahead, 1-0.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Cut Off skipper Pancho Salaedo. "I can't complain."
