The Minnesota Loons defeated the St. Petersburg Thunder, 6-1, at Baby Thunder Dome. Minnesota designated hitter Van Curtis had a superb performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Víctor Trujillo picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 9-2. Minnesota now has a 8-game win streak.

Early in the game, Curtis had a 2-run home run for Minnesota. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Loons on top, 2-0.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Curtis told the Minnesota News.
