St. Petersburg and Marquette played a hard-fought contest.
St. Petersburg Thunder starter Jack Geake turned in a top-notch performance against the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium. The result was a win for the Thunder, 3-2. The Thunder now have a record of 37-46.
Warren Espiritu, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Espiritu contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put St. Petersburg up, 3-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Geake.
