Curry Gets 5 Hits
|
Mark Curry put on a hitting clinic today as the Marquette Miners dumped the Tacoma Fur Traders 10-1 at Ballpark of Tacoma.
The Marquette left fielder made Tacoma defenders earn their pay, lashing Tacoma pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Curry said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Mark Curry hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Cameron Shipp in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Curry is hitting .295 this season with 14 home runs, 50 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 93 hits in 315 at-bats.
