Chesapeake and Gwinnett played a hard-fought contest.
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas got a strong performance from pitcher Eddy Boyd, who stymied the Gwinnett offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Experimental Stadium. Sidd Finch closed the door for Chesapeake, picking up his 11th save of the year.
Manuel Pérez, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2044 draft, helped out the Chesapeake cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1.
"Eddy just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Chesapeake manager Brian Cameron.
Chesapeake is 4th in the Silver AA with a record of 41-33.
