Cangrejos Fantasmas Sneak By Miners, 1-0

The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas picked up a win at Marquette Stadium, knocking off the Marquette Miners, 1-0. Starting pitcher Vicente Medina played a key role in the triumph. Earning his 8th save of the year was Sidd Finch. The win for the Cangrejos Fantasmas raised their record to 37-28.
Chesapeake used the timely hitting of Norm Williams to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Chesapeake manager Brian Cameron said.
