Cangrejos Fantasmas Edge Miners, 3-2
|
Marquette Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Marquette Miners and Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas.
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas picked up a win at Marquette Stadium, taking down the Marquette Miners, 3-2. Starting pitcher Gene Greene was a big reason why. Greene, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Curt Lowery finished the game for Chesapeake and earned his 5th save.
Eduardo Fernández, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fernández contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Chesapeake up, 3-2.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Greene.
With the win, Chesapeake goes to 27-22, while the Miners fall to 20-29.
