Thunder Get Clonked by Guinea Pigs, 4-1

The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs got a stellar performance from pitcher Ronald Love, who handcuffed the St. Petersburg offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Experimental Stadium. Love, now 4-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Gwinnett is now 19-9, 2½ games up in the Silver AA.
The Guinea Pigs got a big at-bat from catcher Arhippa Rintala. For the game, Rintala went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Gwinnett a 2-1 lead.
Rintala said his team "played with focus."
