Olympia Beats Chesapeake, 3-2
|
The Olympia Ogres and Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas played an exciting game.
Gene Greene pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, despite Greene's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Olympia Ogres at Ghost Crab Park. The winner in relief was Ramon Roodenburg. He is now 2-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings.
Olympia used the timely hitting of Pedro Bravo to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ogres on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Olympia manager Steve Ward.
Olympia has now won 6 straight.
