Turbeaus Fall Short, 3-2, at Gwinnett

Both teams had their chances, but the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs eventually prevailed.
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs did just enough to secure a victory over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 3-2, at Experimental Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jim Nasium. The save went to Virgil Gilbert, his 3rd this season.
Luis Concepción, who is tied for 8th in the SAA in triples with 1, helped out the Gwinnett cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the designated hitter went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles.
"Both teams played hard," said Gwinnett manager Tabor de Maria.
Gulf Coast, at 10-13, has lost 4 straight.
