Yucca Valley Yellows starter Ryan Riley was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 5-2. Riley got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Riley allowed 2 runs. Charlie Lyon earned the save, his 1st.
Yucca Valley grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ahvo Holkeri delivered a 2-run triple, to make it 3-1 in favor of the Yellows.
"I guess we'll all be a happy family for at least one day," said Holkeri.
Yucca Valley is now 1-2.
