Blues Get One-Run Win at Crescent City
|
Barton Springs picked up a win at Field of the Krewe, bumping off the Crescent City Krewe, 7-6. Pitcher Ryan Riley was a major reason the Blues emerged victorious. In 7 innings, Riley surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 5 runs. The Blues sit in 10th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 42-53.
Barton Springs left fielder Ed Haynes contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 89th hit of the season and put the Blues ahead, 3-0.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Crescent City manager Tim Norris. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
