A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Asheville Highlanders and Crescent City Krewe.

The Asheville Highlanders handed the Crescent City Krewe a sound defeat, 12-1, at Field of the Krewe. Fernando Castro was a main contributor to the win. He went 4-4 with a triple and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Asheville. Anthony Carney earned the win for Asheville. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1.

Castro made an early impact for Asheville when he stroked his 1st triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which came in the top of the second, put the Highlanders on top, 4-0.

"The Highlanders definitely had our number," said Crescent City manager Tim Norris.

With the victory, the Highlanders upped their record to 46-41.
